Objective: The aim of the present study was to predict social anxiety based on psychological capital and emotional self-disclosure in high school teenagers.
Methods: This research in terms of purpose is applied, and based on the method of data collection, it is descriptive of the correlational type. The statistical population of this research was made up of all the teenagers of the second High School of Lordegan city in 2018-2019, and 225 students were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling method. The tools of this research included Luthans et al.'s Psychological Capital Questionnaire, Snell's Emotional Self-Disclosure Scale and Connor's Social Phobia Inventory. Data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation and step-by-step regression analysis.
Results: The results showed that among the dimensions of psychological capital, self-efficacy, optimism and resilience were negative predictors of social anxiety (p<0.05); Also, among the dimensions of emotional self-disclosure, the dimension of disclosure in the field of anxiety and depression was able to negatively predict social anxiety (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Based on the obtained results, it can be said that psychological capital and emotional self-disclosure are able to predict social anxiety in teenagers.
