Abstract

Abstract

The current research was conducted with the aim of predicting academic self-regulation and academic persistence of students through the perception of the school atmosphere. The method of this research is a descriptive correlation type. The statistical population of this research included all tenth grade female students in Zahedan city in the academic year 1402-1401, and random cluster sampling method was used to select the sample group according to the district. To determine the sample size using the table of Krejci and Morgan (1970), 177 people were selected from the second district and 163 people were selected from the first district. The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the perception of the school atmosphere and the academic self-discipline and academic persistence of the students. Also, the findings showed that the perception of the school atmosphere and its components (teacher support, peer support, clarity and stability of rules and autonomy) significantly predicts students' self-regulation and academic persistence. The results of the t-test of independent groups showed that there is no significant difference between academic self-regulation, academic persistence and perception of the school atmosphere of the students of districts one and two. Also, the results of one-way analysis of variance showed that there is no significant difference between academic self-regulation, academic persistence and perception of the school atmosphere of students of different fields.
