Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to present a model for identifying factors affecting students' delinquency based on a grounded theory approach.
Methods: The research method is qualitative, applied in terms of purpose, and conducted with the grounded theory method. The statistical population includes educational and training experts, heads of academic groups, managers, teachers, and students of Ardabil province in 1403-1404, and the statistical sample includes 35 of them using the cluster random sampling method. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews to theoretical saturation. Inter-coder reliability for the interviews, using the within-subject method by two coders (Kohen's Kappa), was 81%. The validity of the instrument was confirmed by 12 professors of psychology and educational sciences, and the validity of the findings was confirmed by 15 interviewees.
Results: The findings showed that delinquency in students is caused by causal conditions (psychological, social, family, school factors, and factors related to cyberspace) and contextual conditions (economic, environmental, family, and cultural conditions), intervening factors (personality traits, early adverse experiences and lived experiences, and disorders in psycho-behavioral regulation), The focus is on the topic (reducing delinquency among students), strategies (program-based, education-based, supportive, and interventional strategies), and outcomes (academic, psychological, economic, and biological outcomes).
Conclusion: The results indicate that the research model is of an acceptable level and can be used to reduce delinquency among students. It is suggested that specialized workshops be held in this area, and program-based, education-based, supportive, and intervention strategies be used to reduce delinquency.
