Objective: The family environment serves as a foundational context for emotional and social development, shaping student’s emotional regulation and behavioral responses through established communication patterns. This study aimed to examine the mediating role of solution-focused mindset in the relationship between family communication patterns and anger in students. Materials and Methods: A descriptive, correlational study employing structural equation modeling was conducted. The target population comprised all High school students in Ardabil city during the 2024-2025 academic year. A sample of 205 students was selected via random cluster sampling. Data were collected using the Family Communication Patterns Questionnaire (Ritchie & Fitzpatrick), the Anger Scale (Spielberger,), and the Solution-Focused Inventory (Jordan et al.). Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with SPSS-27 software, and path analysis was performed using AMOS-24 software. Results: The findings indicated a direct and significant effect of family communication patterns on anger (p < 0.001). Furthermore, family communication patterns exhibited an indirect effect on anger, mediated by solution-focused mindset (p < 0.001). Goodness-of-fit indices supported the model's adequate fit (X2/df = 2.191). Conclusion: Family communication patterns exert both direct and indirect influences on students' anger, with solution-focused mindset serving as a mediator. These results offer valuable insights for the development of educational and psychological interventions designed to mitigate anger and enhance family relationships among students.
